You thought college was getting too expensive? In some states, sending your kid to a private elementary school costs more than it does to send them to college, according to data from HowMuch.
The average private elementary-school tuition in Connecticut is a whopping $ 13,412 a year. That’s more than tuition at the University of Connecticut, which costs $ 11,998 for in-state students. It’s also just a hair less than in-state tuition at the nation’s top private college, the University of California, Berkeley, which comes in at $ 13,509 annually.
